360 Degree Stakeholder Assessments

Though sometimes ignored in a discussion about Web technology, people are essential to a successful Web initiative.

Association Staff

A thorough discussion of how staff can utilize the Web as a tool to promote the organizations' goals and work more efficiently is essential to the discovery process.  Organizations normally have an existing workflow based on skills and positions and technology that are in place. Taking full stock of staff that publishes content, provides services to stakeholders, and participates in Web communications helps identify how effective project teams can be formed and helps identify the best technological improvements for the organization.

Other Association Stakeholders

Often organization staff has received candid feedback about the strengths and weaknesses of the current Web initiatives from their colleagues or from people that participate in the organization's mission.  A "status check" of the challenges and positive aspects of the current workflow and processes is conducted to map areas for improvement.

Candid feedback is invaluable. Following the initial meetings to gather information about the current state, a survey is developed that will gather both qualitative and quantitative information about the overall user experience of the site.  The following topics are covered in the survey, with the exact text and answer options developed following the current state analysis.

    • Can stakeholders quickly and easily find the information they seek?
    • How often do visitors come to the site?
    • What content or functions do the visitors find most valuable/least valuable?
    • What are areas of frustration in using the site?
    • Has the visitor had any problems related to product orders, and if so, were they addressed in a positive manner?
